SCS – Staying Consistent Saturday 12.30.2023 amyvandermark, December 30, 2023December 30, 2023 BLOG POST Saturday, December 30, 2023 The First Entry Today is a special day. It is Saturday. It is exactly 12 days past my 36th birthday, and I am consistently in awe of the new challenges that I keep placing on myself and the varying accomplishments that I have been bestowed. OK – first challenge, write this blog post. This is the first blog post of my “I’m going to blog everyday in 2024” goal. The result will be an amazing exponential growth in creativity, vocabulary, attention to detail, follow through, and my biggest goal, FUN. Life is too short to not be fun. I don’t know what has been holding me back on creating this blog, and now – here we go. Into 2024 with the first blog post, Staying Consistent Saturday. Each Saturday, I will introduce the coming week’s schedule, appointments, goals, etc, and give you the chance to come along for the journey, find inspiration, share a laugh, find grace with one another, and ultimately – have fun! See you along the way. – Amy The Upcoming Week This coming week is the start of a new year. My gift to myself for my birthday, was to note all the talking points for my “Staying Consistent Saturday” Blog Posts earlier this December.I am so grateful that I took that time to plan ahead, which will make sitting down on Saturday mornings much more practical and “easier”.I heard someone say one time that their self discipline originates from their ultimately lazy personality. That resonated with me. I know that I need to put in the work ahead of time, if I am to be successful when it comes time to do the job. I remember this as an age old philosophy in running restaurants as well – don’t make tasks hard. Your team is going to find shortcuts when they are being pushed to their limits. If you plan for the worst, you will execute at your best.By putting the work in ahead of time, the daily chore or habit of blog writing will be more easy to accomplish.Planning ahead has never felt so good. This coming week Rotary will meet and we will welcome Jill Lagan, CEO of the Boulder City Chamber of Commerce. Following that meeting, we will discuss the upcoming Best Dam Barbecue event happening Memorial Day Weekend 2024. I also have a follow up meeting that is scheduled weekly between now and mid February for the Dam Short Film Festival, which I have so graciously been honored with joining their team as their Social Media Coordinator. I am also going to try to squeeze in a hair appointment with my girl – the greys are beginning to show their shimmering selves at the roots, and its time for some relax time.I did my nails about a week ago, so I give those two more weeks before they need to be worked into the calendar.Thank you for reading along – more to come.
